Paul Guidry started playing football at Breaux Bridge High School in Louisiana before moving on to Louisiana State University and McNeese State University. He started his professional football career in the American Football League (AFL) with the Buffalo Bills in 1966, staying with them through the change to the National Football League (NFL). He was traded to the Houston Oilers for his final season in 1973.
